Billy Markus, the cofounder of Dogecoin who uses the online alias Shibetoshi Nakamoto, attracted widespread attention from the cryptocurrency community after posting “We’re So Back?” on X. The message quickly sparked conversation among traders and investors, especially as it coincided with a broad rally across digital assets.
Dogecoin cofounder hints at market comeback as Bitcoin and altcoins rally
Altcoins and market sentiment surge
Major cryptocurrencies recorded strong price increases in the last 24 hours. Bitcoin saw a 5% rise, while Ethereum traded up nearly 6% during the same period. Several other digital assets, including Avalanche, Ethena, Morpho, Filecoin, Injective, and VeChain, posted gains ranging from 14% to 22%.
Dogecoin itself climbed almost 4% in the same timeframe, reaching $0.088. This uptrend was not limited to just blue-chip tokens, as numerous altcoins outperformed the broader market.

The broader sentiment also improved, with the Crypto Fear and Greed Index remaining in the “greed” zone, pointing to a bullish shift in investor outlook.
Market rally follows Fed decision
The latest uptick in digital asset prices came after the Federal Reserve decided to increase its benchmark interest rate by a quarter of a percentage point, setting a new target range of 3.75% to 4%. Despite the recent failure of the Clarity Act bill, Bitcoin and several altcoins continued to rebound as the weekend approached.
Many market participants appeared more focused on the potential for future rallies, especially if investors become less concerned about further rate hikes.
Key technical signals began to indicate potential upward momentum. Notably, Bitcoin reclaimed the True Market Mean, reestablishing itself above a significant price threshold and marking a return to a bullish phase.
At the same time, altcoin leverage has not yet reached its risk boundary. Blockchain analytics firm Glassnode stated that when the open interest in altcoins comes close to Bitcoin’s share, markets often approach overheating. This threshold, however, has not been crossed, suggesting that altcoins may have more room to appreciate.

At the same time, third-quarter earnings per share are expected to drop 6% year-over-year, and the share repurchase program is likely to plummet from $4.5 billion to $1.6 billion. Has the AI bubble burst? Goldman Sachs: It's more like 1998 than 2000 right now
The Goldman Sachs trading desk stated that the current wave of sell-offs resembles the 1998 liquidity crisis more than the bursting of the 2000 bubble. It is a forced deleveraging rather than a refutation of business fundamentals. The market is drastically repricing construction financing and timeline expectations, rather than underlying demand. Moreover, the issues currently drawing the most attention from the market—electricity and licensing—are actually the least important, as limited supply does not equate to disappearing demand. The real question that needs to be answered is whether long-term revenues can ultimately justify the capital invested.
