PANews reported on July 18th that the artificial intelligence startup Anthropic announced on its official website that it will partner with Menlo Ventures to establish a new $100 million fund called "Anthology Fund," targeting startups that use Anthropic's Claude AI model to build products. Menlo will provide all the funding, while Anthropic will be responsible for providing technical support. Approved companies can receive a $100,000 investment and a "credit" worth $25,000 to access Anthropic's cutting-edge models. The Anthology Fund will focus its investments on startups in several areas, including companies developing artificial intelligence trust and security tools, as well as those applying artificial intelligence in original ways in fields such as healthcare or cybersecurity. Anthropic will not hold shares in these companies but may consider them as potential acquisition targets in the future. This fund is similar to OpenAI's startup fund, which invested $175 million in artificial intelligence companies and received support from Microsoft, OpenAI's largest investor.

The Senate takes control, the White House can no longer appoint "its own people", has the Federal Reserve's independence alarm been lifted?

After the Senate changed hands, the White House's room to install its own people at the Federal Reserve has been significantly narrowed. JPMorgan economist Feroli pointed out that the only expiring Federal Reserve Board position in the next two years is Powell's chairmanship (January 2028). If the White House wants to fill it, it must nominate a candidate acceptable to the Democratic-controlled Senate; otherwise, the seat will remain vacant. Meanwhile, the political value of removing Board member Cook has therefore diminished, and current Chair Waller's path to reappointment is also facing new congressional public relations pressure.
